‘Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 we have been living through a strange time; challenging and testing, yet of palpable creativity and shining generosity. More than ever, we have realised the value of live performance. The arts should be central to our national recovery, as we rebuild our economy and our society.'
John Gilhooly, Director
Nearly two years on, we have been on an incredible shared journey, underpinned by the extraordinary generosity of our audience. Thanks to you we have been able to keep our doors open to artists, broadcasting hundreds of concerts to viewers all over the world and paying our musicians in full when they needed it most.
As restrictions have lifted, we have slowly started to rebuild live audiences, but we are still far from business as usual. We predict that ticketing income this season will be at least £1 million lower than pre-pandemic times. We remain committed to presenting a full season of concerts and learning events, for the sake of artists and audiences, but we need your help to ensure our programmes are not compromised.
Restoring our depleted resources is an ongoing challenge, and we anticipate that full recovery will take 3 years at the very least. We need your help, now more than ever.
By contributing to our Audience Fund you will make a real difference to the lives of performers and audiences around the world, and help us maintain our commitment to:
If you have not contributed to our Audience Fund before, now is the time. Setting up an annual or monthly contribution will be particularly meaningful for us as we plan for the future amidst ongoing uncertainty.
Please give as generously as you can.
