    Overview

This programme, drawn from the Austro-German tradition, begins and ends with masterpieces for piano and strings, Mozart’s dramatic G minor Quartet and Schubert’s sunny ‘Trout’ Quintet.

Wolfgang Holzmair sings Mahler’s moving Songs of a Wayfarer in Schoenberg’s chamber version, and a little-known group of folksong arrangements by Weber.
