The Paolo Borciani International String Quartet Competition, named after the Quartetto Italiano’s founder and first violinist, has helped launch the careers of many of today’s leading string quartets since its creation in 1987, the Artemis, Pavel Haas and Bennewitz quartets among them.
The Kelemen Quartet won the triennial competition’s tenth edition in June 2014 and performs this Wigmore Hall recital as part of its prize.
