Wigmore Hall has played a central part in the BelceaQuartet’s artistic world since the group’s foundationtwo decades ago.

Its twentieth anniversary concertseries begins with an essential Belcea programme,comprising the uplifting ingenuity of Haydn’s lateString Quartet in G Op. 77 and Bartók’s First StringQuartet. The latter’s contrapuntal writing echoesaspects of Beethoven’s Op. 131, among the greatestof all chamber music works.

The Belcea Quartetreturns to Wigmore Hall on 11 October and19 December with two further concerts in itstwentieth anniversary series.
