Overview
In the opening concert of the Nash Ensemble’s2015/16 Season, Mozart is represented by amasterly late string quintet, and Mendelssohnby his First Quintet, fresh and youthful in spirit.
Renata Pokupić sings Respighi’s Il tramonto, agorgeous setting of a translated poem by Shelley,and songs by Bellini and Verdi which reveal thattheir composers were as at home writing for theprivate salon as for the public stage.
