Francesco Piemontesi launches his WigmoreHall survey of Mozart’s piano sonatas and solokeyboard works with the Fantasia in D minor,a work charged with dramatic pauses, suddensilences and fiery outbursts.
The programmealso pairs the Rondo in A minor of 1787,audacious and forward-looking in its harmonies,with the equally unconventional Piano Sonata inA K331, famed for its iconoclastic Minuet and‘Turkish’ Rondo.
