Overview
Brahms composed the last of his three pianotrios during the summer of 1886, in a rentedvilla near Lake Thun in Switzerland.
ClaraSchumann praised her friend’s ‘wonderfullygripping’ work, commending ‘its power ofthought, its gracefulness, its poetry’.
Membersof the Kungsbacka Piano Trio join the Elias StringQuartet in Brahms’s G major String Sextet, awork of Schubertian warmth and lyricism.
