Overview
Brahms turned to models from the past, includingthe late instrumental works of Schubert and thefamous Baroque theme ‘La folia’, for his String Sextetin B flat, completed in the summer of 1860.
Scottish Ensemble pairs the work with the sensual lyricismand intense late-Romanticism of Schoenberg’sstring sextet Verklärte Nacht of 1899.
