Gideon Klein, a victim of the Nazi Holocaust, wrotehis Duo for Violin and Viola shortly before hisdeportation to the Terezín concentration camp in1941.
Thomas Zehetmair and Ruth Killius presentthe piece in company with the two Sonatas forsolo violin by Klein’s near-contemporary BerndAlois Zimmermann and a selection of Bartók’sfolksong-inspired Duos.
