Overview
One of Germany’s greatest singers, Brigitte Fassbaenderreceived early encouragement from her actress mother andformative lessons from her father, the eminent baritoneWilli Domgraf-Fassbaender.
She made her debut as a Pagein Wagner’s Lohengrin in Munich in 1961. During a longand illustrious career, the mezzo-soprano performed at all ofthe world’s leading opera houses and cultivated exceptionalqualities as a Lieder singer. She is also celebrated formasterclass sessions that delve deep into the nature of theexpressive art of singing.
Fassbaender returns to WigmoreHall to lead two days of masterclasses, working with acompany of postgraduate students from UK conservatoires.
