    Beethoven’s ‘Serioso’ Quartet of 1810earned its nickname by exploring conditionsof confrontation, emotional turmoil anddeep anxiety.

    The Emerson String Quartet,recently described as ‘electrifying’ by TheNew York Times, moves from the ‘Serioso’ tothe UK première of Mark-Anthony Turnage’sShroud, specially written for the acclaimedAmerican ensemble.
