    Overview

Jonathan Cohen and Arcangelo launch their Wigmore Hallseries with two of JS Bach’s earliest church cantatas, including the touching Actus tragicus, perhaps writtenin 1707 for the funeral of the composer’s uncle, andTelemann’s equally moving funeral cantata, Du aberDaniel, gehe hin.

The programme also offers a chance forArcangelo’s ace period-instrument players to shine in theSixth Brandenburg Concerto, with its warm blend of partsfor violas, viole da gamba, cello, violone and harpsichord.

Arcangelo wish to thank Thomas Corran for his generous support of tonight's concert
