    Overview

Partnerships with other performers have longbeen central to the Artemis Quartet’s artisticdevelopment. The Berlin-based ensemble, named after the Greek goddess of the hunt, returns to Wigmore Hall in its latest formationto perform Schumann’s fertile creativeresponse to landmarks of the Classicalchamber repertoire in company with the young pianist Anna Vinnitskaya.

The ArtemisQuartet opens with the earliest of Beethoven’sstring quartets, first sketched in January1799, and Bartók’s folk-inspired, intenselyfocused third quartet, completed almost90 years ago in Budapest.
