Overview
Inspired by his experiences inthe USA, Dvořák composed his‘American’ Quartet in 1893, whileBritten’s First, written in California in1941, was premièred in Los Angelesthe following year and Shostakovich’sFourth produced shortly after hisstateside visit in 1949.
