Overview

Join a new generation of talent for an evening of song and opera.

Independent Opera proudly presents baritone Kyu Choi, soprano Nia Coleman, tenors Filipe Manu and Joel Williams – our 2018-19 scholars. These exceptional young singers present an evening of intimate song and virtuosic opera, with acclaimed pianist Simon Lepper.

From the spiritual to the celestial, the collection of works explores the humour, joy and pathos of the human condition. The evening will feature songs and arias by Handel, R Schumann, Schubert, Mozart, Bizet, Donizetti and Bernstein and the world première of a song cycle by award-winning composer Elena Langer and poet Glyn Maxwell.
