    Overview

Named after a music-loving Dutcharchitect, the Dudok Quartet Amsterdam offerstwo masterpieces in the sombrekey of F minor: in the words ofDonald Tovey, the Haydn workfrom his set of 1772 is ‘the mostnearly tragic work he ever wrote’,while Mendelssohn’s last majorutterance reveals his state of mindfollowing the death of his belovedcomposer sister Fanny Hensel.

    In memory of Peter Flatter.
We are very grateful to all those in our audience who have chosen to make provision for Wigmore Hall in their Will. Their gifts, when realised, make a meaningful difference from which generations of artists and audiences will benefit. Thank you.
