With an operatic repertory that over the last few years alone has ranged from Monteverdi through Handel and Mozart and on to Rossini, Verdi, Offenbach and Thomas Adès, the English mezzo has always thrived on variety – a quality once again evident in a programme drawing on three distinctive compositional traditions.
