Overview
Smaller works – six miniatures written between 1823 and 1828, and another penned on 27 April 1827 – precede one of the late, great sonatas dating from September 1828, just a couple of months before the composer’s death and considered to be one of the most extraordinary achievements of this late flowering of his genius.
