Overview
The latest in Ian Page’s popular and revelatory MOZART 250 programmes focuses on music composed in 1773. In between three radically contrasting symphonies, the exciting young soprano Alexandra Lowe sings a beguilingly lyrical aria by Haydn and highly charged ‘Sturm und Drang’ arias by Schweitzer and Mysliveček, and the concert ends with arguably Mozart’s first masterpiece, the exuberant Exsultate, jubilate.
