Overview
In his programme of late-Romantic works, the German pianist includes his own transcription of one of Strauss’s finest tone-poems and the substantial sonata by Korngold, composed in 1931. He is also a noted exponent of the neglected London resident, Russian émigré Nicolas Medtner (1880-1951), whose 4 Lyrical Fragments were composed between 1896 and 1911.
