Overview
Two works dating from 1786 to 1790, ending with K590, the last of the ‘Prussian’ quartets and Mozart’s final work in the genre. Dating from four years earlier, the so-called ‘Hoffmeister’ was certainly published by and may have been written for Mozart’s friend Franz Anton Hoffmeister, a successful businessman and minor composer.
