Programme

Overview

The programme consists of a work more than an hour in length by the American composer who has developed a highly individual musical language through her engagement with Hindustani classical music and just intonation. She won an Ernst von Siemens Composers’ Prize in 2020, the year after she wrote today’s piece for the JACK: its title refers to a spiral structure visualised by the composer in parallel to the work’s extended microtonal descent.
