Overview
A husband-and-wife duo whose wide enthusiasms motivate many larger projects resume their regular collaboration with two substantial French sonatas. Premièred in 1877, Fauré’s First was one of his earliest successes. His younger colleague Reynaldo Hahn’s 1926 work shows Fauré’s influence – though its slow movement – subtitled ‘12 CV; 8 cyl; 5,000 revs’ – is a homage to the motor car!
