The remarkable vocalist joins with the leading contemporary ensemble under its British-Lithuanian cellist/conductor director for a late-night programme consisting of two works. In its concert performance tonight, Elaine Mitchener will undertake the iconic Maxwell Davies work, which made such a huge splash following its 1969 première (this is only the second time a female voice has performed it, and the first in the UK); the work is paired with an instrumental piece by the American visual artist and poet Albert M Fine (1932-87).
