Overview

Take a magical trip in time with presenter Lucy Drever and baroque/folk fusion trio, Nobody’s Jig as they shine the spotlight on the women from our 17th Century stages in this concert for families with children aged 7-11. Bringing historical England to life on the Wigmore Hall stage, we will paint a picture of the theatrical world in which some of the first professional female actors were creating vibrant and visionary work on public English stages. From writing and creating original plays, to portraying Shakespeare’s most loved female characters, this concert will share the stories of the women who paved the way for performers today.
