The distinguished violinist founded a quartet with three other leading string players in 2011. Its programme consists of two staples of the repertoire: Mozart’s celebrated K465 (1785), whose opening phrases are unusually dissonant for its period; and the second of Janáček’s two quartets (1928), its title referring to a correspondence between the composer and his unattainable beloved Kamila Stösslová.
