Overview

Two Hungarian composers feature in this programme. As well as Bertrand Chamayou’s collection of Liszt pieces, the orchestra and its violinist conductor enter into the strong Hungarian rhythms of Bartók’s Divertimento. All combine in Britten’s mini-concerto, written in 1939 – the same year as the Bartók piece.
