Founded at the Royal College of Music in 2013, the ensemble has seen a steady rise in its fortunes marked by competition successes including first prizes at the Royal Overseas League Competition (2018), as well as at Bordeaux and Banff (2019). In 2022, in partnership with Banff, the Marmen took up its position as Peak Fellowship Ensemble-in-Residence at the Meadow School of the Arts, Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, Texas.
