Overview

Quatuor Danel continues its Wigmore Hall cycle of works by Weinberg and Shostakovich. Opening with Weinberg’s melancholy lament for his friend, whose famous D-S-C-H motif it quotes, the programme’s second half is devoted to Shostakovich’s bittersweet Fourteenth Quartet.
