Overview

Boris Giltburg crowns his cycle of Beethoven’s Piano Sonatas at Wigmore Hall with a retrospective of works from three defining periods in the composer’s creative development. He opens with the fiery C minor Sonata, music driven by youthful energy, and the heroic ‘Waldstein’, a landmark of Beethoven’s middle years. The cycle ends with the visionary Op. 111, Beethoven’s colossal farewell to the genre.
