Overview

For all their innovation and brilliance, Mozart was forced to sell the publishing rights to his String Quintets in C major K515 and G minor K216 for meagre profit. The Takács Quartet and Timothy Ridout show how the composer’s art and craft trumped commerce in these works of supreme quality and expressive power.
