Two exceptional pianists come together to celebrate music by Schubert written for piano duet – a repertoire that contains some surprisingly ambitious works. The biggest piece here is the Divertissement in Hungarian style, dating from 1824; Life’s Storms and the Grand Rondo date from the composer’s final year (1828) while the Grand Marchis one of a set of six written between 1818 and 1824.
