£1 ticket 1What is the £1 ticket scheme?

The £1 ticket scheme is designed for families who have been referred to us through partner organisations or families who are on low incomes and/or in receipt of means-tested benefits. When you are a member of the £1 ticket scheme, you can purchase £1 tickets for you and your family to Wigmore Hall’s family concerts and workshops, including:

  • For Crying Out Loud! – Concerts for babies aged 1 and under and their parents/carers
  • Chamber Tots – Music-making workshops for toddlers aged 1-5 and their parents/carers
  • Family Workshops – Music-making workshops for families with children aged 5-11
  • Family Concerts – Interactive concerts for families with children aged 5-11

£1 ticket 2How does the scheme work?

There are two ways to become a member of the £1 scheme:

  1. A referral from a partner organisation (i.e., family service, children centre, local authority).
  2. Providing proof of a means-tested benefit or similar* or letting us know of another consideration.

Once approved, you will become a member of the £1 ticket scheme and can purchase £1 tickets online, on the phone, or in person at the Box Office.
You can sign up to receive emails or flyers of Family events eligible for £1 tickets.

*means-tested benefits could include, but not limited to, Universal Credit, Job Seekers Allowance (JSA), Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Disability Support Allowance for Children (DSA). All our family events are designed for parents/carers and children to enjoy together. We lead a range of exciting musical and creative activities, including concerts and music making workshops for all to enjoy. We firmly believe that music can strengthen bonds, provide enriching and inspiring shared experiences which enable families to express themselves and be creative together.

Wigmore Hall is proud to meet the Family Arts Standards, reflecting its commitment to offering family-friendly events and spaces. At the Hall, we have baby changing facilities, space for buggies/prams and cloakrooms for your belongings so you can relax and enjoy our activities.

To apply to the scheme, please download and fill in this application form. Once you have completed it, please email this to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (along with evidence if applicable).
Alternatively, you can:

  • Apply over the phone by ringing 020 7258 8240 (office hours are 10am-6pm, Mon-Fri)
  • Post a completed application form (along with copies of evidence if applicable) to:
    • £1 Ticket Scheme, Wigmore Hall, 36 Wigmore Street, London, W1U2BP
    • IMPORTANT: Please do not send original copies of evidence. We may not be able to return them.

When you are a member of the £1 ticket scheme, you will have a Wigmore Hall account created (if you don’t have one already). This means you can purchase £1 tickets:

  • Online:
    • Sign into your account before purchasing tickets.
    • Add applicable concerts or workshops to your basket
    • When you are ready, click check out. The discount is automatically applied.
  • By phone or in person:
    • You can phone our Box Office on 020 7935 2141 or visit the Box Office in person to purchase tickets.
    • Let the Box Office know you are a member of the £1 ticket scheme and provide your name and/or address.

Tickets can be printed at home, collected at the Box Office, or delivered to your postal address.

  • If you are eligible for the £1 scheme, you will be able to purchase £1 tickets for family events at Wigmore Hall. This includes:
    • For Crying Out Loud!
    • Chamber Tots
    • Family Workshops
    • Family Concerts
  • Membership to the scheme will expire after 2 years from approval. We will contact you when this happens, and you can re-apply if eligible.
  • Chamber Tots and Family Workshops will have limited £1 tickets available due to smaller capacities.
  • Only the named customer registered to the scheme can purchase £1 tickets.
  • You cannot purchase £1 tickets in conjunction with any other discount or offer.
  • You can purchase £1 tickets by phoning or visiting the Box Office or purchasing online via your Wigmore Hall account.
  • Wigmore Hall reserves the right to remove membership to the £1 ticket scheme at any time if we believe you are no longer eligible.
