Overview
John Gilhooly, Director of Wigmore Hall, has invited the author Julia Boyd to bring Travellers in the Third Reich (2017) to the Hall for a special afternoon talk and book signing. Winner of the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for History 2018 and a Sunday Times top three bestseller, this historical narrative is based on first-hand accounts, exploring what it was really like to experience Nazi Germany.
During the talk, Boyd will discuss the many and diverse tales she uncovers in the text, as well as exploring how they give fresh insight into the complexities of the Third Reich, its paradoxes and its ultimate destruction.
Copies of Travellers in the Third Reich will be sold for £7.50 at the event and Boyd, a member of Wigmore Hall’s board of trustees, will be donating all proceeds to the Hall’s Audience Fund.
