The Modigliani Quartet formed inParis in 2003 from players whohad met at the Conservatoire.Tonight’s programme focusseson the last of Tchaikovsky’sthree quartets (1876), whoseslow movement, marked Andantefunebre e doloroso, was a memorialto the Czech Ferdinand Laub,whom the composer consideredthe finest violinist of his time.
