Overview

In partnership with the Russian pianist, the high-flying soprano’screative programme features numerous works designed to pushthe boundaries of the human voice as an instrument. Theseinclude compositions associated with the extraordinary CathyBerberian, whose visual score for Stripsody (1966) consists ofcomic-book-style sound effects, as well as George Crumb’s takeon the poetry of Walt Whitman for voice and amplified piano.
