Overview

Preceding the ever-popular Carnival of the Animals is a work by Germaine Tailleferre (1892-1983), a notable member of Les Six, whose 1970 score was written for a film about Impressionist painters that was never produced (its title is that of a work by Monet). A perfectionist who released very little music, Duruflé composed his Op. 3 in 1928 and dedicated it to the late music publisher Jacques Durand.
