Overview

New works and rarely heard gems find a home in this absorbing programme, complete with world premières by two eloquent performer-composers. Vaughan Williams’s 'The Unquiet Grave' mines the emotional depths of a folk ballad in which a dead woman’s eternal sleep is disturbed by her lover’s mourning for ‘a twelve month and a day’.
