Overview

The Hagen Quartet’s trio of concerts ends with the revelatory pairing of quartets from Haydn’s mature Op. 74 collection, including the eternally popular ‘Rider’, with Brahms’s delightfully cheerful final string quartet. The latter closes with a beguiling set of variations on an exquisite folk-like theme.
